ChatGPT gets always-on agents, Claude Code gets mods, Gemini lands on Windows
A big week: OpenAI's DevDay brought agents that keep working between chats, Anthropic opened up Claude Code to customization, and Google put Gemini one shortcut away on Windows. Here's what actually matters for your work.
Meet "dots": agents that keep working between chats
A dot is an always-on agent in ChatGPT. You give it a goal, connect the apps it needs and decide what it may do on its own. It has its own cloud computer and brings results back for your review.
Why it matters: This is the shift from "ask and answer" to "hand off and check in": ongoing work like monitoring, research or follow-ups that runs while you do something else.
Rolling out to eligible Pro and Business Premium users (18+). Not in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK at launch.

In the ChatGPT camera, tap the three-dot menu and choose Scan. Capture several pages in a row and ChatGPT combines them into a single PDF, ready to use in your chat.
Why it matters: Handwritten notes, contracts, receipts, a printed brief: photograph them once and ask ChatGPT to summarize, extract or organize them.
Rolling out on iOS.

A "Try on" button now appears on clothing and accessory listings in ChatGPT: upload a selfie and see how it could look. You can also save products to Favorites or folders.
Why it matters: If you sell fashion or accessories online, your customers may start shopping this way. Make sure your product pages are clear and complete.

Mods are small add-ons that hook into what Claude Code does: rewrite a prompt before it's sent, add a bit of interface, or replace a feature. They're shared inside plugins.
Why it matters: You won't write one yourself on day one, but expect ready-made mods that make Claude Code fit your workflow, installed in a click from the plugin directory.

A single place to discover tools, agents and services for Claude, including connectors and plugins from companies like Atlassian and Salesforce.
Why it matters: Connecting Claude to the tools you already use gets easier to find, which is where most of the real time savings come from.

The Gemini app is now on Windows. Press Alt+Space from anywhere for quick help, to hand off a task or to draft something.
Why it matters: If you live in Windows all day, AI help is now a keystroke away instead of a browser tab.
Available now on Windows.

Scan (or photograph) your handwritten notes from this week, upload them to ChatGPT, then paste:
These are my notes from this week. Turn them into: 1) a to-do list grouped by priority, 2) anything I promised someone (with who and when), and 3) the 3 questions I still need answered. Only use what's in the notes. If a word is unclear, ask me instead of guessing.
