GPT-6 arrives in ChatGPT, Claude works inside Google Docs and Sheets
OpenAI rolled out GPT-6 with answers that can include visuals and small tools, and ChatGPT now takes audio files. Claude moved into Google Docs, Sheets and Slides and can now build live dashboards.
GPT-6 with "Intelligent UI": answers with visuals and built-in tools
ChatGPT now runs on GPT-6 and can mix text, visuals and interactive pieces in one answer: side-by-side comparisons, diagrams, or small tools like calculators and bill splitters. It picks the format itself and still gives plain text when that works best. It can also start answering while it keeps thinking, then add more findings.
Why it matters: Comparing two suppliers, pricing options or plans gets easier when the answer arrives as a table or a working calculator instead of a long paragraph.
Rolling out globally for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, and to Free and Go from Oct 8. Enterprise availability depends on admin settings.

You can now attach an audio file to a ChatGPT conversation and ask for a transcript, a summary or answers about what was said. A meeting, interview or lecture can become structured notes or a follow-up email draft.
Why it matters: A recorded client call or voice memo turns into notes and next steps in a minute. OpenAI notes transcripts may contain errors, so check names and numbers.
Paid ChatGPT subscriptions and workspaces. Availability may vary by workspace settings, region, app version and model.

A new add-on opens Claude in a sidebar next to your Google file. It can edit text in Docs, write formulas and build charts and pivot tables in Sheets, and build slides from your deck's own layouts. By default each change waits for your approval.
Why it matters: If your work lives in Google Workspace, you no longer copy and paste between Claude and your files: ask for the change right where the document is.
Public beta on all paid Claude plans. Install it from the Google Workspace Marketplace. On Team and Enterprise, an owner must enable the Google connectors first.

Claude Dashboards turns plain questions about your company data into a dashboard that stays current, connecting to tools like Salesforce, Snowflake or BigQuery. Claude Motion turns a prompt into a short animated explainer you can edit and download as an MP4. Claude's Docs, Slides and Design features also left beta.
Why it matters: A weekly sales or leads report can become a dashboard you open instead of rebuild, and a short explainer video for a product or service no longer needs an editor.
Dashboards: beta on paid plans. Motion: beta on Team and Enterprise. Docs, Slides and Design: every plan, including Free.

Google opened its SynthID Detector to everyone. You can check if an image, video or audio file was made with AI from Google or its partners, which include OpenAI and NVIDIA.
Why it matters: Before you share or reuse a striking photo or clip, you have a way to check where it came from. It only detects content marked with SynthID, so a "not found" result isn't proof it's real.
Available globally in English, at synthid.com.

Upload a recording of a meeting or client call to ChatGPT (paid plans), then paste:
This is a recording of a call. Give me: 1) a 5-line summary, 2) every decision we made, 3) every task with who owns it and any deadline mentioned, and 4) a short, friendly follow-up email I can send. Only use what was said in the recording. If a name, number or date is unclear, mark it [check] instead of guessing.
