Finishing a Branch
Wrap up finished work cleanly — merge, PR, or clean up. (For developers.)
Part of Superpowers by @obra ↗Finishing a Branch steps in once the work is done and the tests pass, giving Claude a structured way to close it out — laying out the options to merge, open a pull request, or clean up — so nothing is left half-finished or hanging.
What it does
- Kicks in when the work is complete and all tests pass.
- Presents clear options: merge, open a pull request, or clean up.
- Makes sure finished work actually gets integrated, not left dangling.
What's in the download
- SKILL.md — the branch-finishing workflow, ready to install.
How to install (2 minutes)
- 1Download the .zip and unzip it — you’ll get a folder called finishing-a-development-branch.
- 2In the Claude app: open Settings → Capabilities → Skills, choose Add / Upload, and select the folder (or the .zip).
- 3In Claude Code: drop the folder into your project’s .claude/skills/ directory, then type /skills to confirm it loaded.
- 4That’s it — the skill activates on its own when it fits what you’re doing.
